For many, it’s not Christmas without tucking into a feast and pouring a glass of your favourite tipple!
However, for more and more families the daily struggle to keep a roof over their heads, and food on the table is becoming a harsh reality. Increase in homelessness, and use of food banks has never been so high, and this is happening right on our doorstep.
In the spirit of Christmas, this year C Hanlon are pleased to support the Trussell Trust Stop UK Hunger appeal. From April to September this year a staggering 107,609 3-day food parcels were handed out by volunteers in Scotland. Food banks are braced for their busiest December on record.
From the homeless and needy, to pensioners and struggling families, the role of the food bank in our community has never been more essential. We at C Hanlon have chosen to donate £2000 to be split over four local food banks in the areas in which we serve.
We hope our clients and customers support our decision not to give out bottles this year. The plight of those less fortunate, we believe, is a far greater need. Your support throughout the year has allowed us to be in a position to bring Christmas to those who may not have had a chance to celebrate otherwise.
Anyone who wishes to make a donation, we will hold a collection point at our offices.
