Suspended Gully Pot Renewal – Skypark
The C Hanlon Drainage team is always there to offer assistance to its wide range of valued clients especially when a solution to a problem seems impossible.
Imagine a drainage gully situated above a roof of an office complex which also acts as a service road for the rest of the building, leaking and causing disruption to the business!
Our client contacted us and requested our help in resolving the problem, we relished the challenge and tackled the job as follows:
The picture shows the defective cast iron gully pot designed to remove surface water from the access road and situated above suspended ceiling of the office. The suspended ceiling was then removed and tower scaffold erected internally and positioned below the defective drain ready for works to commence.
Our experienced Civils and Groundworks team commenced the uplifting of the block pavers and sub-base road make-up and then careful removal of the existing cast iron pot measuring all spec, dimensions and sizes, the makeup and design detail was then passed to the preferred fabrications specialist in order to construct a new and exact replacement.
The ground was then prepared and when the new unit was ready within 2 days our engineers installed into place securing all as necessary including all necessary connections to existing drainage system.
Once secured into position the gully pot was then sealed using epoxy resin primers and sealants, substantial water tests proved all to be in a water-tight condition.
New frame and cover was then brought to surface by building up to level using class B engineering brick in preparation for the necessary reinstatement.
Result, problem solved and another satisfied customer.
