All commercial premises in the UK available to buy or rent are required to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
A fine of between £500 and £5000 can be imposed if an EPC isn’t made available to prospective buyers or tenants. In most cases the fine is 12.5% of the rateable value of the building.
